Andrew has worked at Tinkers Hatch for about 3 years and enjoys taking the guys from Tinkers to East Hoathly and Halland Community Garden every Tuesday and Friday. He derives great pleasure from seeing the engendered sense of purpose and the feeling of belonging to a community that has been very welcoming and supportive from the earliest days to the here and now, where real friendships have been forged that will hopefully last for years. In his spare time, Andrew is a Director of NACAS (National Association of Care and Support workers) and Sean and Heard, so is kept busy!

Claudia was born in Oxfordshire, but as a child she lived in Canada, California and out on Long Island, NY. Each was an opportunity to see how varied the ways are, in which we all approach the necessities of life. She has travelled the world teaching Meditation, Aura-Soma Colour Counselling and Relaxation. While home her pastimes are creative sewing and gardening. This has led to a deep interest in the thoughts of Rudolph Steiner on Bio-dynamic agriculture and gardening and on cooperation through education, colour and spirit. Claudia enjoys sharing the sense of community, harmony and inner stillness, that being surround by plants can offer us.

The founder of our Community Garden has lived in East Hoathly for many years. He was brought up in the countryside with many members of his family involved in farming and organic food production. When he became ill it became clear to him that it’s not about what we can’t do with a disability or illness, but about what we can do. Gardening helps foster positivity and hope for the future. He has always been keen on healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle and sharing this with others.
